Jennifer Garcia is an attorney who competes in triathlons and loves running. She is licensed as an attorney in Michigan and is currently studying for the Colorado Bar. She won the Racing Underground Sprint Series for her age group two years in a row and placed in the top 10% in the Ironman All World Athlete.
One day in 2012, Jennifer was starving after a swim workout at her gym and the only thing the gym had that she could eat was NuGo bars. She said, “I was blown away with how awesomely good they were and was a fan ever since!” Jennifer loves NuGo Dark Mint Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Pretzel, and Spicy Chocolate. She eats 10 to 14 NuGo bars each week, after training and sometimes for breakfast.
“What I like best is the fact that the bar tastes amazing and is vegan, gluten-free, and Non-GMO! It is so hard to find that trifecta and why I make most of my bars and food! So to be able to grab and go and know I am still putting something healthful in my body is so so important to me!”
Three years ago, Jennifer became a vegan for health purposes and describes it as “the best decision I could have made.” Prior to becoming a vegan, she was a pescetarian. Her coach follows a plant-based diet and helps her with nutrition. She enjoys experimenting with new recipes. “Being vegan doesn’t mean you don’t get to enjoy food and while it isn’t for everyone, it is definitely for me,” said Jennifer. “I have a lot of energy and feel awesome eating plant-based!”
Jennifer recently qualified for the USAT Olympic Distance National Championships for 2015. She is hoping to qualify for worlds, and NuGo Nutrition wishes her the best of luck. Follow Jennifer on Twitter and Instagram as @JayGar23.
