Team USA figure skater Emily Chan began skating when she was only four-years-old. At the age of seventeen, Emily Chan won the novice ladies crown at the 2015 U.S. Figure Skating Championships, securing a spot on Team USA. This was her third time competing in the novice, and she had a near-perfect performance. She then won a silver medal at her first international competition on March 23, 2015, in Val Gardena, Italy.
In order to improve performance and flexibility in figure skating, Emily has taken 10 years of ballet and rhythmic gymnastics. Emily trains for about five hours per day in Texas. “Making Team USA and being able to travel the world has been one of my lifetime goals,” said Emily. “I am extremely excited to work even harder and represent the U.S. in any future competitions.”
Depending on the competition season, she switches between lower carb and high carb diets, but either way, there is a NuGo bar that fits the bill. Emily said, “I know I am consuming quality ingredients so I can perform my best every day with NuGo Nutrition!”
“For a morning snack, I eat NuGo Fiber d’Lish to keep me full until after practice. For a post-workout snack, I usually eat a NuGo Stronger to recover for my next session. If I feel like a sweet treat after dinner, NuGo Dark hits the spot.”
She enjoys baking sweet treats for family and friends, making protein treats, and making jewelry in her spare time. Emily hopes to compete in the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea. Follow Emily on Instagram.
