This healthy Earth Day smoothie combines two nutrient dense recipes with no added sugars or artificial colors. Its array of sweet and refreshing flavors come from foods that grow naturally from the earth. Enjoy this vegan and gluten-free smoothie any day of the year.
Kiwi Pineapple Smoothie
(makes 1½ cups)
Ingredients:
- 2 kiwis, peeled
- 1 cup fresh pineapple, chopped
- 4-5 mint leaves
- ¼ c almond milk, unsweetened
Directions:
Blend the above ingredients and pour into 3 (½ c) servings.
Blueberry Banana Smoothie
(makes 1½ cups)
Ingredients:
- 1 c frozen blueberries
- 1 small banana
- ½ c ice
- ¼ c water
- 1 tsp chia seeds
- ½ tsp flax meal
Directions:
- Blend the above ingredients
- Pour over the servings of the Kiwi Pineapple Smoothie.
- Colorfully combine both smoothies by using a spoon to press down on the outer edges of the smoothie.
