In 2015, Amy Jacobson, aka RunCheerRun, was in the grocery store searching for healthy and nutritious work snacks to fit her vegan and gluten-free lifestyle when she spotted NuGo bars. The first flavor she decided to try was NuGo Dark Spicy Chocolate, and she was immediately hooked!
When she is busy and/or training, she eats one daily. Amy loves to pair a vegan NuGo bar with fruit for a portable nutritious snack and post photos of them in social media. “They satisfy my craving for candy bars, while fulfilling my need for protein,” said Amy. In addition to NuGo Dark Spicy Chocolate, she eats NuGo Dark Mint Chocolate Chip and NuGo Slim Espresso. She even got her mom hooked on NuGo bars!
Also in 2015, Amy was struggling to fight active PTSD, depression, and anxiety. That is when she discovered fitness, and eventually running. Amy explains how she has never been an athlete and how running saved her.
“I was the girl picked last in gym class and never quite felt like I fit in. I had no confidence. Then, one day in September 2015, I saw something about a marathon and said to myself, "I will do that." So, I put on my sneakers and hit the pavement. I never could have imagined how much running would change, and save, my life. It has become my therapy, release, and religion. It keeps me going when I just don't feel like I can go on.”
As her social media name indicates, Amy is here to cheer others on that may be going through a similar experience. She wants to show others that life goes on, and there is always hope for more, especially when you run. Follow RunCheerRun on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest.
