Tori Gorny is a dance major at the University of Buffalo, who follows a gluten-free and dairy-free diet. She has been dancing since the age of two. She is now 20 years old and is from Buffalo, New York. She originally started dancing because her mom is a dance teacher. Her older sister danced as well, so she wanted to follow in her footsteps, and when she did, she immediately fell in love. When Tori grew older, she began competing on regional and national levels, and won a variety of awards and titles, such as American Dancer of the Year 2016 at the American Dance Awards. She is currently a Junior BFA Dance major at the University of Buffalo.
“Everyday I make small steps towards better in forming the artist and athlete that I am. Through having good nutritional intake, I am able to better understand my body’s needs so that I can be the best version of myself in my dancing”
She has had the opportunity to dance in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, which was an unforgettable experience, as well as getting the opportunity to perform at the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. for the American College Dance Association’s National Conference.
Tori’s favorite line is NuGo Slim because it is very high in protein, but doesn’t hold too many calories which is perfect for a dancer’s diet! “I like NuGo bars because they are trustworthy in their ingredients, having so many different lines that offer so many different benefits, as well as being suitable for a variety of lifestyles and diets. In my training, they are a perfect snack that fuels me in between classes, without exceeding caloric intake,” Tori said.
She eats gluten-free and dairy-free. “That’s why NuGo is so nice to have in a diet, because they do offer gluten-free and dairy-free options,” she said.
The first time she tried NuGo, she was at the airport a few years ago on her way to a dance intensive. She needed a quick snack that would fuel her a long day of classes and when she read the NuGo lavel, she knew she had to try it out. “NuGo has the utmost nutritional value, with real ingredients that taste amazing and fuel you for your entire day ahead,” she said.
Tori choreographs a few guest solos at a couple of local dance studios. She also started a project-based page called “purpose by TG” which combines her own dancing and choreography into a video.
Her current goal is to move to Los Angeles after graduation to dance in a contemporary dance company. She would love to choreograph and assist classes on a convention circuit. She would like to also become a registered dietitian or health & wellness coach one day.
Outside of dance, Tori enjoys drawing/painting, working out at the gym, going on walks, reading poetry, and playing with her two golden retrievers! Follow Tori on her journey on Instagram and Youtube.
