Samantha Calderon is a 23-year-old marathon runner from Minnesota. Last summer, she graduated college, got married, and moved to Boulder, Colorado to train. She started running when she was a junior in high school. She ran in college all four years where she was a 3x NCAA All American at St. Cloud State University in track and cross country. She has continued to train post collegiately and now runs under former Olympian Kathy Butler with the Boulder Athletic Club in Colorado.
When she moved to Boulder, her biggest goal was to qualify for the 2020 Olympic Trials. This past January, she ran the Houston Marathon in 2:44:44 and qualified for the US Olympic Trials. Her biggest goal is now to improve in the marathon. “I have been doing the little things mentally and physically to get that edge. I want to run 2:40:00 in the next couple years,” she said.
Her favorite NuGo product line is NuGo Protein Cookies. “I love how delicious they are, but they are also so good for my body after hard workouts and great for travel,” she said. Samantha uses them as a great treat and fuel for after runs and workouts. “It’s something I look forward to after a run!”
Outside of running, Samantha is a dog mom. She is usually walking, feeding, or snuggling with their dog Chardonnay. She also loves to cook, bake, and spend time with her husband and church community, Pinewood. Follow her journey on Instagram, Facebook, or listen to her on a podcast.
